Who needs care?

Answer 6 quick questions to see what Direct Primary Care plus health sharing could cost your household.

Not insurance, and not one-size-fits-all

We help Georgia individuals and families compare three alternatives to insurance: direct primary care for everyday care, health care sharing for big unexpected bills, and discount plans for dental and vision. Each one has a job and a limit. The guides below explain both, with prices dated so you know how current they are.

We don't sell or recommend insurance. When a Marketplace plan or Georgia Medicaid or PeachCare for Kids is the better fit, the guides say so.

Health care sharing
Health care sharing ministries are not insurance and are not regulated as insurance. Sharing of medical expenses is voluntary and not guaranteed. Review each organization's guidelines for details, limitations, and state-specific notices.

Georgia notice (O.C.G.A. § 33-1-20)
Georgia law requires a health care sharing ministry to give this notice on or with its applications and guideline materials: “Notice: The organization facilitating the sharing of medical expenses is not an insurance company, and neither its guidelines nor plan of operation is an insurance policy. Whether anyone chooses to assist you with your medical bills will be totally voluntary because no other participant will be compelled by law to contribute toward your medical bills. As such, participation in the organization or a subscription to any of its documents should never be considered to be insurance. Regardless of whether you receive any payment for medical expenses or whether this organization continues to operate, you are always personally responsible for the payment of your own medical bills.” Health care sharing is not Minimum Essential Coverage.

Direct primary care
Direct primary care is a membership with a primary care practice. Under Georgia's Direct Primary Care Act (2019), a direct primary care agreement is not insurance and is not subject to the state's insurance laws; the agreement must say in writing that it is not health insurance. A DPC membership does not pay for specialists, hospital care or emergencies, and it is not Minimum Essential Coverage.

Discount plans
THIS PLAN IS NOT INSURANCE and is not intended to replace health insurance. A discount plan provides discounts at participating providers and does not make payments to providers; the member pays the discounted fee. Discount plan organization: Careington International Corporation, 7400 Gaylord Parkway, Frisco, TX 75034. Discount plans are not ACA Qualified Health Plans.
